Small communities often experience less consistent day-to-day wastewater flow compared to larger cities. Despite this variability, these end users still require high-quality wastewater treatment to meet stringent environmental regulations and protect public health. Traditional solutions, such as laying expensive pipe mains and building pumping facilities to transport wastewater to centralized treatment plants in nearby cities, are neither cost-effective nor energy-efficient. Consequently, many communities, especially remote and indigenous ones, struggle with inadequate or aging wastewater treatment systems, posing significant health risks and environmental concerns.

Other issues deserve special consideration such as isolated population and seasonality. Some towns multiply their population in summer, significantly increasing the volume of wastewater, with the added problem of summer water shortage.


HALBR package can be designed such that all compartments are pre-assembled as modules at off-site facilities. This modular package can be designed and constructed in different sizes and capacities to accommodate treatment requirements across a range of communities and wide variety of wastewaters at different rates. HALBR can be seamlessly connected, relocated, and commissioned on-site in running wastewater treatment plants as a post-treatment process. Multiple compartments with different arrangement and treatment options can be considered in packages configuration and multiple packages can be used to run in series or parallel modes to provide greater flexibility in terms of effluent quality and flow rate.
